That guitar was marketed as a National FT-440-2 in the early 70's and probably under a few other names. They were contracted and imported by the Strum and Drum Company. It is worth between $50 and $350 depending on the condition and how bad someone wants one. I had one. Mine had a changed bridge pickup because the original was dead. The body is often made of four 3/4" planks glued together and you can usually see the seam on the outside. Some of the necks are those Japan multi laminates like mine was but I have seen some with regular wood necks although not usually maple.

At least he wrote "needs some TLC", not "has vintage mojo dirt and tape residue that people pay thousands for".

Still, first he just says it looks like a Fender, then insists it is...

back around ~2010 some bric-a-brac seller in England tried to auction a clearly homemade cigar-box ukelele thing as a rare gibson 'prototype', and started the bidding at 20K USD. Yes - 20K. It literally looked like something my kiddo made in kindergarten.
The seller also posted each and every 'inquiry' he receieved regarding the instrument - in a manner that indicated there was serious mental health issues at play.
I suspect something similar is happening here.

Reporting it is the right thing to do - but expecting the seller to see the light (or take their meds) is a whole other matter.

I'd pay a buck sixty if it plays and sounds decent ...

You can get a Walmart Sawtooth tele for $50-$60. I had one as my #1 for a couple of years.... When you’re done with it you can sell it as a vintage tele prototype and TRIPLE your money!!

These are actually killer. I had one exactly like it. Budget MIJ. Early 70s. The pickups were super hot and it played really nice. Reminded me of an old Danelectro. I think I paid 80 bucks for it. That was a while ago though. I wouldn’t go more than 150-200 if it was in good shape.

But yeah, other than somewhat resembling a Fender Telecaster, it obviously isn’t anything the seller says it is. I find it difficult to believe a seller could be this ignorant. (Can’t tell ivory from plastic? C’mon.) Given the poor grammar and gratuitous use of capital letters, I’m thinking there might be some psychological issues at play, or they’re just trying to hit a bunch of keywords to get more views.

Looks like they made that neck out of an old kitchen table. It's a KitchenTone®! For playing hambone blues.

I think the seller is having a rough day
    I messaged him this:
    Hi
Do you have the relevant paperwork for selling ivory? I'm interested in the guitar but concerned about shipping products with ivory. Thanks

    he replied:

His expert was a guy named Cheeto who sells hit nuts at the train station. This is 100% legit.

I don’t get this, how can a piece of junk be worth around the same price as a new Affinity ?

    I got this reply:

"I AM NOT AN EXPERT SO I ASKED A GUY ON FACEBOOK"

I guess if a guy on Facebook says that's what it is who are we to argue? :D

    I reported it.
