So I picked this up today and now I need to figure out what I want to do with it.

I don't really need another guitar and I already have 4 other guitar projects in progress, but I need to do something with it... I might want to do some kind of interesting guitar shape... Not sure though, any suggestions? Thinking about a LP special maybe...[IMG]

Put it away in your wood storage until you are inspired to make something out of it. Sapele will make a wonderful body for any kind of guitar, but don't start building something just because you have some wood.

Good advise... I don't have any plans on making anything right now with it, just looking for some ideas that may spark some inspiration. I still have 4 other projects I want to finish before I start on this, which should put me well into next year. 2 of them I hope to finish within a few weeks and 1 by Christmas as it will be a gift for my daughter. The 4th will be a purple tele for myself... no time table for that one.

    Thank you!
I did a little chambering before gluing the halves together, it was about 8 1/2 pounds.

"I don't really need another guitar"

What are these words? I'm not sure I understand.

It's beautiful wood for sure but very dense. The tele body in my avatar is an alder body with a resawn sepelé cap about 5/16 thick. A solid one will weigh a good bit.
