All the parts are in, with this GFS body being the last to arrive. GFS calls it a Daphne Blue, and although I don't agree, I am digging this shade of blue regardless. And the cream binding looks really good against this blue, IMO. Polished it up and got rid of some very fine swirl scratches this morning. Now I'm ready to start getting everything put together!

Took this "Jazzmaster" neck off a Squire VM Special Tele. Fits the neck pocket on this body incredibly well!

920D reverse control plate assembly. I want the volume at the top on this partscaster.

    Looking good Treynor.
Is the scale length going to come out ok?

Thanks! The scale length will be perfect. Although they used the JM type headstock, the scale is Tele length.

Yeah you are right about it not being daphne blue, but it is a nice blue! Good luck with the build.

Thanks! I must say these CV Alnico 5's thru the quality pots, wiring, caps sound pretty darn good.

She's done. I still need to play around with the intonation a little bit, but she plays, sounds and looks great! The cream pick guard I already had seems just right...for now.

    Looks fantastic - great job!!

The GFS colors DO seem a bit different. I did a build a a GFS fiesta red body, and it is clearly a different shade than another build I did w a warmoth FR body

I usually don't like bound bodies, but with that color it looks right.

I put together a partscaster with GFS paulownia body (self-finished), allparts fat neck, and a set of those same CV 50s pickups. Got the pickups for $25; one of the better $25 investments I've made:)

Even though it's my beater, it's my go-to guitar around the house.

    Enjoy yours!

Were there any issues with the GFS body as far as fit & alignment go? I have not had luck in that department with GFS, but the prices are very tempting.

Maybe their QC has gotten better or I just got lucky, but in addition to the one I just finished, I did the two pictured here over the last several months with GFS bodies.

For the Esquire build, I took a chance on one of their bargain ash bodies. I had to do some light sanding in the neck pocket to get the right fit, but otherwise it is really good for the cheap price I paid.

The Strat build body was absolutely perfect. Alder body and everything fit like a glove. Although all three have been good, this one was the best.

Nice build! Love the color and the Jazzmaster headstock is a nice touch.

Thanks for the reply & straight info. I bought one of their arch top teles because I liked the knob & switch configuration, was a huge mistake. Nothing fit or lined up. The fix on the body voided any return, & maybe one day it will be a guitar.
