I made this guitar body back in 1991 from 7pcs of wood...5 pcs of Mahogany for the back, and 2pcs of flamed maple for the front. Originally, it was a "bluesboy" configuration, 74 Gibson bucker at the neck, Seymour hot tele at the bridge. Just a clear urethane spray can finish. After the whole thing was completed I didn't like how it sounded..so, I took it apart, and threw it in the closet. I quit playing guitar in 93..but, starting playing again 8yrs ago. I started collecting parts to put it back in service about a year ago, Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups. The original neck was a 83 Squire 3 bolt that was worn out. I plugged the holes, routed the neck pocket deeper for a lower deck height, mounted a nice Fender/Roland 4 bolt neck. Routed the Tele pickguard to match the rounded Strat heel profile. All new electronics, and hardware...here's some pics of how it ended up..[IMG]:) It sounds and looks really great.

Yes...you’re right about that ! After all, I couldn’t expect it to sound like a Tele if none of the electronics were from a Tele..lol But It sure sounds good now !!!

    That is sweetness. Beautiful.

A bit garish for me but I love it still.

Thank you !!! The finish is just a good rub down with very fine steel wool on the raw wood, then a couple of cans of spray urethane, which I then hand buffed with "Novus Plastic Polish"...I think it was #2. The more I rubbed, the shinier it got. It dried for 27yrs in the closet...lol :) But it did turn out nice !!
