The price is one. The neck width is another.

But is there real quality difference? I like the Seagull S6s I played today (A&Ls are not available locally), though I think I liked the M6 Spruce even better (sounded fuller).

The tuners might be different, but does it really matter? Decoration (like the rosette) I don't really care about.

With the Seagull, you'd have the straight-string pull which might be better for tuning purposes.

On the other hand, the A&L has a more trad. look to it.

These are the only two differences that I can think of.

Beautiful though a solid top may be, I must say I'm quite impressed with Godin's wild cherry laminate top. It's featured with the affordable A&L's and also with my Norman B-15 which is a lively and undemanding guitar. Cheaper too.

When i was shopping for an acoustic i had a chance to A-B a 'Wild Cherry' A&L and an S-6, because there's a local dealer that carries them both, and i have to say i didn't notice that much difference tone-wise...which says a LOT about the laminated A&L's. You'd swear the thing had a solid top the way it sounds....much more bright and responsive than any laminated guitar i've ever played. I ended up buying the A&L mainly because i loved the slim neck. It feels more like an electric. No problems tuning-wise either...it has a Tusq nut and saddle, and you can beat on the thing for hours and not go out of tune. I think it's hard to go wrong with any of those Godin-family guitars. Even the lower priced ones are extremely well made.
