For the same reason I won't like yours.
it's also a "thank you" for answering when I'm the OP
The makes me laugh or makes me smile is a no brainer, that's the money shot.
Other reasons would include clarifies something not already well explained, makes a courageous attempt to grapple with something, or just warrants support.
When a debate gets going between two clear sides, I generally don't "like" all the posts I agree with because (I feel) it feeds the argument. I may agree with the content but not the fighting over it.
Some really good arguments have already been said.
I will add that this world can be a really sh***ty or even cruel place to live in sometimes. And so to acknowledge a good, interesting, informative or funny post with a simple like which can mean a lot to someone is the least I can do.
When I learn something new.
To keep the water flowing, so to say...
Pretty much all of the above ..... and, when a post mirrors my thoughts.
I think I'm getting more selective with my likes ... may be episodes of laziness or apathy.
So, feel honoured if you get a like.
@Teleman 1 you said it well in your original post, also if I learn something new.
Hmmm, buggered if I know how I got so many then.
I "like" posts that amuse, inform, or educate me.
I find lots to "like" here.
I especially enjoy music/artists/gear that inspire me, or perspectives I had not considered.
For me, the TDPRI is the international peer group I was seeking.
If someone takes the time to answer to whatever nonsense i post, i like it. Otherwise, if the post made me think, or if i recognize similar ideas to mine, i like it.
Because there's no "Dislike" button.
yep.. it’s a biased system. Have a like.
Yes, and bad puns get an auto like.
I'll like yours, if you'll like mine...
When I feel it’s appropriate. A very fine gray line that can change with the subject
I click Like when somebody's post
* makes me smile
* conveys an original, interesting thought
or when it
* agrees with my sensibilities
Of course, I have been known to click Like whenever there's gratuitous Japanese nudity involved as well.
When I get softballed new band names like Gratuitous Japanese Nudity ...
I like pictures, too, if they give me an endorphin rush.
I mostly "like" new gear posts. I enjoy celebrating their new stuff with them.
I also "like" cool comments on said gear.
