watching tv will lead you to beleive memes are useful tools for interpersonal communication. Also how do i do cursive on my phone screen? I can't seem to get the ink off.

    Not unless it's Emmylou Harris.

Hollywood presenting awards to itself for being itself? Yeah, no thanks. What egos these people must have to need constant validation.

I enjoy TV to a certain extent, but I don't take it seriously. All the blather about "This show really started the conversation about [your issue here]" always confused me. Do people really talk about stuff like that? We sure don't; not at home, not with friends, not at work. It's entertainment, pure and simple.

I don't get awards for what I do, and what I do impacts people a lot more than TV does.

I watched that series also and if she did win something for it, I say well deserved. She did a fantastic job with that roll. I didn't watch the Emmy's and never do.

No TV. No Netflix. No movies, nothing. It's music, PC's and the outdoors for me.

The wife and I watched the Ravens-Chiefs game. We missed the Emmys, and then again, we didn't.

There are a lot, and I mean a lot of people whose list of hobbies starts and ends with TV. These award shows are their All-Star games.

Absolutely no desire to watch Emmy's, Oscars. CMA, etc. However, I am glad to hear Kate and the little pixie girl from Law and Order Criminal Intent (one of my all time fav's) won for Mare Of East Town. Excellent series with great writing and stellar acting. Did Sponge Bob win anything this year?

I love Kate Winslet and I thought Mare of Easttown was a pretty good show.

they are actors no matter what the venue...stage...movies...tv...its still an art form whether they are good or bad or you like it or not...art is not a contest...same goes for music and its grammys

I'd rather gargle broken glass. I'm sure I watch and enjoy several of the shows/actors involved, but watching people praise themselves on what a great job they did hitting their mark and repeating someone else's words? No thanks.

some great wit on discussing television mentioned its called a medium, because its neither very good or very bad.

you must remember this. the whole point of television is to sell you things. the entertainment aka 'art" is merely a vehicle, or bait, to keep you watching, in order to sell you something. Often the product or concept is baked into the actual entertainment ie product placement.

its like taking Da Vinci and puttin a diet coke in the hands of the Mona Lisa, it may be art, but its mostly commerce.

Awards shows of any kind (TV, music, sports, etc.) are just intolerable...the speeches, the red carpet, etc. I am sometimes interested enough to read the list the next day of who won, but that's about it.
