Not sure. What I'd do is charter a plane to Nashville and spend a day or two at Gruhn's figuring it out.

I'd definitely be on the lookout for an original 5e3, though.

But for real, I'd just get a CNC router and a luthier tool shop and a bunch wood and paint and be a business man and make as many as I want.

Honestly probably just an R9 or a Fender CS Tele. Not really too concerned about vintage stuff.

A new Martin D-18 Vintage with Adirondack top, of my choice.

If you want to play a truly wonderful sounding acoustic guitar, grab hold of one of these, sometime!

Black custom les paul, and then I'd immediately have my friend yank out the frets and put in the big railroad tracks I like.

What perfect timing. I just saw this one for sale:

That would be first. Then I'd scoop up all the older Rics I could afford. Thus satiating my appetite AND taking them all off the market AND driving their values up.

But youse guys could come and visit them if you ask nicely. ;)

Why think small? I don't need more guitars but I might buy an auditorium so I can jam with the Stones just before I fly them out to party on my yacht in the Caribbean where I'll have Jimmy Buffett mixing the drinks and Taylor Swift serving them. Afterwards Jimmy and I will sit on the fan deck and strum island songs while he tells me what a great voice I have and I tell him how happy I am to be financing his next album. Why not? I mean, even though you can't actually buy friends, you can buy something so close that you won't know the difference.:D

I would head down to London, go to Denmark street and buy the Robin Ranger that they have in Music grounds, buy a cool old Gibson at Angel's and a Rickenbacker bass at Macari's.

And then I had them all delivered home and enjoy a long holiday in the UK.

New Tele, but a tossup between a Nashville or Baja.

Not likely to happen, as I don't play the lottery (though I have bought tickets for friends who are fascinated with such things as a small gift. I also buy them for hosts of any party I go to).

My Dad used to have me play his numbers whenever I saw him, even when he knew he had only weeks to live. I'd ask him "What's the point, what would you do if you won?", he answered: "It's not for me anymore".

I didn't have the heart to refuse him after that.

So given that my chances are even more minute then those who play it...

I'd have such a long list of folks to help first, that megabuck guitars/gear would be the last thing on my mind.

I'd buy that Road Worn Tele I saw in the Rock Inn in Perth, WA... Because I'd be on a plane back to Oz within the week.

Nobody won because I decided not to buy a ticket this week.

    Right...

Actually...I never invest in lotteries, anymore. I used to do the New York State lottery religiously. I hit on I think 4 or 5 numbers and got about $100. Something like that. Other than that, I never won anything or even came close.

But that was ok, because the word was that the money made by the state would immediately be put into it's education budget, which I thought was a noble cause. Then I found out that the state would automatically deduct the same amount of money from the education budget as soon as the lottery money was deposited.

    Cute. I haven't played since.

And that's my story. But if anyone here hits, please PM me and I'll be happy to give you the specs for the guitar of my dreams.

Actually...I already have the guitar of my dreams. I always wanted a '57 Strat and was lucky enough to get a very well made AVRI off of consignment at a great price. I A/B'd it with the real deal once and can honestly say that they both were excellent.

But I'll still go for one of those Sadowsky or Suhr custom builds. Flat fingerboard. SSH. Yep.

I would pay Rickenbacker to custom build for me a mapleglo 360/12 with a wide enough neck that could be played by someone like me with average adult male hands.
