So, how does your practise room look alike?

I'll have to look into that.

Hey, how often do you guys rehearse there? Do you have a regularly scheduled night?

You’ve got some negotiating skills! May I use your tactic if we ever move to countryside? It’s impossible to buy a large enough house here, generally +0,5M€. And even at that price, your next door neighbour is 10-20 m away from you. If I’d crank up with my Bestles (Edit: Beatles, even though Bestles isn’t that bad either!) band to play Helter Skelter, the police would arrive before we’ve finished the song :D

    Thank you guys!

Nice pictures we’ve had: garages, rooms, broom closets etc. And of course great stories! Just keep ’em coming! It’s nice to see where Tele lovers do their magic.

Btw it’s 5 AM in Finland, but it was worth it to wake up

No pics for me - I'm practicing mostly out of my home office but it's all a mess since I'm renovating my attic space. Band practice is at a band member's house - in his living room which happens to be an acoustic dream. Just exactly the right amount of natural echo - high ceilings. Even the bass player can sing in there!

It's just me working in my little music room (a spare bedroom in the house), so the small space works. This is where I practice, play, write, record, surf the web, modify guitars, and nap in the recliner! I guess that makes it a man-cave. I try to keep it fairly neat and well-organized as that soothes the soul and fosters creativity for me.

And this would be "central control"... also where all of my guitar modding is done. (Tools in the drawers.) There is a walk-in closet off of this room, thankfully, as it is packed with more guitars and parts bins, and such.

Not that I’m jealous at all, but doesn’t the singers mouth get full with bees and flies? I’d almost sell my Teles to get a place like that to play.

Almost, because aren’t Teles like wives? Once you get one, you’re happily stuck with them until the day you die (unless they are, oops sorry, the Tele is inferior quality)?

Has anyone else ever considered certain amps because they could be disguised as something decorative in a living room?

Almost snagged Ibanez tsa5tv or fender Greta to leave it on the mantle......
Wife probably would've caught on eventually though.

Well, I ALMOST got away with a 2-tone tweed Swart AST in the family room for a short while... Although she did acknowledge it looked 'nicer' than my beat-up SFVR!

I like your idea! Maybe something like this would bo the trick?

    http://www.emerysound.com/Cabinets.html

Regarding guitars, I usually buy one and leave it to our practice room for a couple of months. Then I bring it home tucked in a case, and put the case to some distant corner. Add couple of months and I lay the guitar casually on the sofa or something like that. When The Wife finally spots it and asks what’s that, I’ll say oh that’s just an old thing, had it for ages!

if it rains with too much wind, we move into the shed/garage..... then if it keeps raining more... the water runs across the shed floor....

then it's time to switch off and have a few beers....

Oh man, you shouldn't lie to your wife. That's just disrespectful.

I really like this! First, this nice rural view. Then, this rustic industrial(ish) place with running water and everything. Your training places must be very inspiring musically. You guys have style!

    @DavidP ,
I'm contemplating if a Supro Blues King will fit into a slot on the 8-cube organizer that is my living room TV stand. If it does, I just upend one of the storage squares into my basement and keep an amp hidden with noone the wiser.
Of course, itll be much harder coming up with $600 and spending it without my wife noticing, but hey, if it were easy everyone woulda done it already I guess

Actually, that’s not a lie. It’s only a matter of how one defines the words ”for ages”. For some, years or decades, for some months, it’s all about the subject.

But you’re right, one should never lie to your loved ones. Still, occasional bending of truth is sometimes wiser than to have a fight where armchairs fly out of the window.

    E: Finnish autocorrect strikes again

E2: After reflecting the subject for a while, I have quite miserable feeling about my post and your reply. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings. I love my wife to death. We just can’t get concensus about my music hobby. If you play Beatles near authentically, you’ll know how many different guitars you need. And they are not cheap. My family and the Beatles are the only things in my life which are driving me forward. I hope there’s no hard feelings between us.
