I have an aluminum one on my '63 Tele. I think I got it from Guitar Jones (parts vendor) about 20 years ago.

If you Google metal guitar switch tip there are dozens of makers and hundreds of choices.

By the time you type the “s” in switch the sale leaders pop up.

Crazy glue. When it comes time to replace the switch, snap the blade off with a pair of Sidecutters.

If you still have time to edit the title of the thread, you may want to mention you are looking for a metal top hat switch.
Seriously. Non-reading *mutters*

Edit: Can't edit the title or delete the post so I guess a few more illiterate know it alls will show up.

Yeah, one doesn't have much time to edit the title of a thread.

I see you are new here. Before criticizing people trying to help too strongly, I would consider that the Forum has members around the world and not all speak the same language. That isn't the same as illiterate. But mostly, people don't have the time to read carefully, nor do they read an entire thread. Human nature - you get what you pay for. My suggestion - don't bury a key part of your inquiry too deep in your question. Otherwise, you will get a range of responses that don't answer your question. Quality of answers is proportional to quality of question. :)

They had round ones for 25 which isn't stupid expensive.

I'm thinking either sintered metal 3d printer or get a chunk of
billet aluminum and assault it with a dremel.

Find someone who does 3D Prototyping to make a few for you. Shouldn't cost you more than a couple hundred dollars each.

Yeah it's my fault. /sarc If people aren't going to read a post thru then they shouldn't give advice and they especially shouldn't get salty when they don't.

I looked at every link I was shown and went hunting down Guitar Jones even the guy didn't post a link and got his twenty years ago I am completely willing to admit when I'm being lazy, hell I said as much in my post.

So I'm going to make my own.

Are the top hat switch tips breaking or just coming off?

If you like the look of metal, I suppose a top hat style would have to be custom made. (fun project to try)

If it's just that they keep coming off while playing, there are a bunch of YouTube vids on hacks to keep switch tips from coming off.

By the way, the first time I read your post I also missed the "top hat" part. Especially since your first sentence said you searched the internet and found 1 round aluminum tip. (those come up in bunches)

People tend to read the title and a few words after it because there are a lot of posts and unless it's in the title or first sentence, it often gets missed. Hope this helps
:)
