"Smart Parts" what happened? (fender parts supplie

Hey,

I bought all my parts for a project a couple of years back from Smart Parts or PartsSmart.com.

They were great and had good prices.

Anyone know where they are or if they still sell Fender parts to the public?

One of the partners died unfortunately so they closed it.

Any idea if someone took over the market from them?

Or...where else should I go for genuine Fender parts (vintage RI stuff)?

I had no idea. Everytime I called that place they were so personal and helpful. Sorry for their loss and ours.

Smart Parts

I liked them, too. Sorry to hear what happened. I have always had good luck with Angela. Just know what you want when you call and don't order a couple of small items because the flat rate FedEx is steep. Their prices are as cheap as it gets for Fender parts, on balance. Fast service. Just don't call to chat or ask lots of questions, or you will raise the ire of Steve.

All too often the business dissolves due to (among other possible reasons) there being no plan in place to continue. If Smart Parts was in fact a partnership...which I have no idea...just rambling and being sad for whatever the case was. Just saw one of their boxes in my closet today, phone # on the label and all....aaargh.
