image.jpg image.jpg I’ve been looking for smaller pedal builders to support. Ive been using Reverb and here’s what I’ve tried so far.

Saturnworks-great utility pedal go to from CA. So far I’ve bought a passive splitter, active buffered splitter and a 2 channel mixer. Hisband/Wife team.

Yooper Pedals-This cat builds to order. I told him I was looking for fuzz and I had a Muffulletta. He advised and built me a MK1 Tone Bender clone. This thing is awesome! I’ve got a Jordan Bosstone clone getting built now. There is about a week-ish build time. Choice of knobs!

Berch Audio- Now this cat builds a good looking pedal. I’ve just been trying out the Fenris Ranger which is a Dallas Range Master style box. Sounds great! I just ordered his Golden Axe stomper. Ships from Wisconsin.

Any you’d like to recommend? All of these were at or under $100. I’d really like to try out some small builder mod pedals!

We have Dunn Effects (dunneffects.com) here in St. Louis. He specializes in fuzz/OD/distortion pedals mostly for metal players, but he's a nice guy. I asked him to build a fake guitar pedal for my son's first birthday that had a functioning LED, switch, and knobs, but no inputs. He was happy to do it for me and charged me almost nothing for it. He even painted it.

For the Canadians, GupTech in Saguenay, PQ. (Not that non-Canadians can’t buy their stuff.)

I have their germanium fuzz face (Phoque Face) and I love it.

Also StripFX in Hamilton, ON. I haven’t tried their products (yet), but worth looking into.

Also in Canada, Tone Hungry Effects has a Reverb store.

I haven't tried them, but I have wanted one of their "Hunger Bender" Fuzzes for a while.

Cody in Hamilton builds fantastic clones. As long as a pedal isn’t on the market, he will build it (respectable!) American dollars go a long way up here. His pedals range in price from CDN$100 for simpler builds like a Rangemaster or Orange Squeezer to $180 for an EQD Sunn V1 pedal.

Admittedly it’s fun to have something different than your friends.
I have several dirt pedals from Blackhawk Amplifiers. Don’t turn the dial if you don’t know what it does! Just kidding, the runes are consistent on his stuff and there is a cheat sheet if you need it.

I also have 6 pedals from Sushi Box. He makes a lot of great tube preamps and overdrives. And he is highly responsive to input from his customers.

Waddyagot? What’s your specialty, if that’s appropriate? Inquiring minds want to know! :)
