Good gracious... Is she like 4 feet tall? That guitar is HUGE on her. But nice performance :)

If there was a scale with Brandi Carlile at one end, and Miranda Lambert at the other, Kacey Musgraves would be right in the middle.

I’m so outa touch I had to look her up.
    4’7” is perfect, too.

She's pretty. A good performer. Good band.

But "Slow Burn" has always struck me as just a little too close for comfort to this Beck tune. Not that she would care, but the first time I heard "Slow Burn" I was pretty disappointed in her:

The record that tune is on won Album of the Year from the grammy folks, FWIW. Exceptionally fine studio work on that record, save a few tunes that were less spectacular, IMO.

The record opens with Slow Burn and if you just zone in on the opening simple chords, you'll hear just about perfection in capturing the essence of a good gibson flattop. to my ears, anyway. I don't see/hear the connection to the Beck tune, but that's just me. There's a version on SNL that I enjoyed more than the Coachella version above, but it's still good stuff.

I like Kasey. She has a fearless quality that outweighs the shallowness and sameness of some of her songs.

I'll keep waiting for her to write a song that's equal to Merry Go Round.
