Just heard the news. I love Slayer. I don't listen as much as I did when I was younger, but I still crank up Raining Blood at least once a month!! R.I.P.

Wasnt a huge slayer fan but saw them live a couple of times as part of larger tours and they definitely got the crowd in a rowdy state. RIP.

RIP Jeff Hanneman.

*No Brown Recluses in Cali. The myth persists but that's all it is.

There's an etymologist that's been collecting samples for 20 years of what folks 'think' is the notorius Brown Recluse ... so far not one of the samples is.

not everyone loved the music of Slayer as some of us do, but never was their a more socially concious band.. And when the rest of the big 4 were getting more and more commercial, Slayer got harder and and more uncompromising. I always said about their music "Anger is ok if used constructively" and i always felt its what they did. In this sense there were no purer guitarists than Jeff and Kerry, 110% connected to their sense of outrage about the things they saw as being bad in the world.

Jeff will be missed

Damnit. He gave it all on stage. One of the best and most influential writers in metal. RIP Hanneman.
