I have a 2013 American Deluxe Ash Tele with a maple neck and board. What wood is the skunk stripe? Looks like rosewood or maybe walnut. Google hasn't helped so I'm turning it over to yall. Haha.

I believe that should be walnut, but I will defer to more knowledgeable folks.

I'm pretty sure that it's walnut.

Just curious-- your neck has a separate maple fingerboard? In that case I wonder if the stripe is just cosmetic. Anyone here know how the truss rod is installed in these necks?

Thru the skunk stripe. It's a bi-flex with the round disk anchor at the heel and adjusts at the headstock.

I believe it has the maple slab fingerboard (as most do now) because it is not predetermined which fingerboard will be used (rosewood or maple) at the time of mass production. Usually, the Vintage reissues are the ones with a one piece maple neck (also the classic series).
