Mmbop, ba duba dop Ba du bop, ba duba dop Ba du bop, ba duba dop Ba du, oh yeah.

2 Grammy nominations. Over 500million copies sold. Reached #1 in at least 12 countries.
And the poor guys could never do it again. They switched to writing real songs and it all fell apart.......

But seriously, everything Bad Company did Is pure cheese. Def Leppard isn't far behind. "I'm hot, sticky sweet from my head to my feet"

Also the Chad Krueger song from Spider-Man. Hold in to the wings of an eagle, watch as they all fly away?
Not if your holding its wings you fool!
(To think that got more plays than Shaggys "wasn't me", which was like it or not was masterfully crafted and almost wasn't even on the album if not for thier A&R guy, and wouldn't have gotten played if not for a DJ in Hawaii getting it off Napster. True story. Say what you want, I loved that album. Not so much Nickleback...)

There's this thing called Google...

Although the actual lyrics don't make much sense.

Blinded by the light,
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

I assume the 'deuce' is the little deuce coop [sic] that the Beach Boys sang about.
Google can steer you wrong.
But I know everything said here at TDPRI is guaranteed to be true. šŸ˜‰

The sad part is that this guy had the gall to dog Pete Townshend's songwriting...
The band always struck me as too… too…

More gall: SM opened for the Dead one summer and later ripped them in the pages of Rolling Stone, basically calling them a bunch of noodlers, and the fans fared no better in his estimation.

Our greatest offense? We didn’t pay enough attention during his set. You know, the same tight, note for note, ā€œhey, you remember this oneā€ stuff he played all summer. By the time we got to Chicago it was like ā€œsure, yeah, let’s eat all the mushrooms during the opener, that way I can puke and be fine before Jerry and the boys take the stage.ā€

Maybe he didn’t realize he was playing to generally the same crowd every night?

He and James Cotton joined the band for a few songs on the first night, though. Worth a listen, maybe.

(Gloria, Watchtower, Lovelight, Iko, Schoolgirl)

From China Grove, by Doobie Brothers:

"The sheriff and his buddies with their samurai swords..."

Samurais are Japanese, Einstein.
Sheriffs in America are allowed to have samurai swords, mildly-derogatory-nickname.

Great song overall, but I would have sent that line back for re-write. Of course, I'm not sitting with tens of millions in the bank, so what do I know?

It's hard to single out the worst line in this song.
I'll go with "I like **** for breakfast, Eggs Benedict ****".

EDIT: It's so bad the forum automatically replaced the subject of the song with **** šŸ˜‚

Yeah but "No comprende, it's a riddle" more than makes up for it.
"Hey, I need a line that rhymes here ...
I clogged the drains down in Africa?
I pulled a train down in Africa?
C'mon guys!"

I've always thought that song blew harder than the Berg wind. Talented studio musicians can't be expected to be wordsmiths. The lyrics sound like a middle schooler trying to write a poem about Africa.

I really think it's hard to beat

"And men still keep on marching off to war
Electrically they keep a baseball score"

It's like they made a deliberate effort to pen the worst conceivable rhyme.
