Anybody ever use this stuff? It's shellac based so I thought it would work under nitro. It went on kinda rough

Shellac always goes on pretty rough, and doesn't polish up very well. Never found a very good use for it, but your project looks interesting.

I have used Zinsser BIN as the primer on both the snakehead esquire replica in my avatar pic as well as on a candy apple red PJ bass I made years ago. It seemed to work very well under nitro on both guitars. I would certainly us it again for a solid colored guitar in the future. I’ve also used Zinssers clear spray shellac as a sealer under transparent nitro finishes on several guitars.

Had to file edges of the cheap kluson type tuners to get them to sit flat.

Cut the nut slot by making 2 cuts with a razor saw then used a chisel made from a small screwdriver. How do you guys make the nut slot?
