    Yeah I know ....
With politics, flame wars, religion and sex off the table I managed to find a perverse subject of musical content and instrument desgn all rolled into one.

A cement mixer filled with whoopy cushions and cottage cheese with four flats on a muddy road in the rain would have contained more musical content. I'll be on line looking for replacement iPad speakers now...... Good god that looks like a schedule 40 pipe for a string!!

    Lol!

    Had to look it up

    "Djent
/ˈdʒɛnt/ is a style of progressive metal, named for an onomatopoeia for the distinctive high-gain, distorted, palm-muted, low-pitch guitar sound first employed by Meshuggah and SikTh."

To each their own, I guess.

I'm surprised I actually listened to 25 seconds of that.

I think the whole thing is kind of a joke because the style usually uses guitars with more than 6 strings: often 7 or 8.

I had the same thought. At first I didn't think it had a nut, but I think it does. maybe he didn't want to call it a fretless?
In reality, I would guess that the fret was added later to correct an issue.

I have listened to Meshuggah, there is a lot of technical skill there, but not really my style.

It's useless!! It has no tone pot! What if I need to dial out some of the harsh highs?

Seems like that was the joke too--one only needs to hammer on a half step to accent a good djent riff. Don't ask me how I might know.

Why battle the rest of your band fighting for frequency space when you can just own 20-30Hz like this smart fella.
