Hi folks. Could you recommend a simple delay with 3 or more preset buttons. I'd like to be able to just step on a switch for each delay setting. Thanks.

TC Flashback X4. It's big but pretty straight forward. Has 3 preset switches that you can save to which delay you want.

+2 on the Flashback X4. And if you're into tweaking, the TonePrint App and Editor will get you there.

It's funny, I've been looking at the X4. I may have to get a bigger pedalboard.

I went from a modded DL4 to a Vox Delaylab and now on a Flashback X4. The FB being far superior, in my opinion, than the two former.

What I really wanted was the Alter Ego X4 but missed the sale.

Maybe I'll find someone who wants to swap. The AE is the same, minus the reverse and dynamic modes on the FB but it has other modes that interest me

I use the ARDX20 by Analogman. It's analog and you can set two different delays and switch between them. If you need more than two settings then maybe it's not for you.

+3 x eleventy billion on the Flashback X4. We rehearsed last night. During the intro to a couple of songs, I hit the "B" preset, which is "reverse/backwards" (thus the "B"...get it?) and they were loving it! The FB X4 is fairly simple to operate, too, always a bonus for me.

The Boss DD-20 allows for 4 presets plus the current one. Although at first glance it doesn't appear very 'simple', it is actually very easy to programme and allows for a range of switching options that are user programmable. All this makes it sound complicated, but it's not and once set up as the user desires there is access to some of the best digital delay sounds I've heard.

Have to be brief while at work, but take a look at the TC Triple Delay as well. You can stack your 3 delay presets on that one even. I don't think you can do that on the Flashback, unless I'm mistaken.

    You are correct.

And it looks like a fantastic pedal! I just don't stack delays, but someone else might do just that!

Agreed. My wife bought a DD20 for me as a birthday present in 2006, and it's been in use ever since. It's extremely easy to use.

I may be overkill but have both a DD20 and a TC Nova Delay. So I can have presets for lots of songs in the set. The DD20 is a little more organic and does the warmer analog type delays really well, and the Nova nails the digital stuff a little cleaner IMO. Plus I like the different modulation options on the Nova. Both easy to program once you understand the basics. Reading the manual actually helps. (I know....gasp!).
I had an x4 for a while, great sounds but I like to see the actual bpm I am tapping in. We play to a click and some songs need the repeats to be dead on.

^ I had the Nova and it was beautiful at the dotted eighth, clean type stuff. It was my main delay for years. I only sold it toward my Flashback x4. I kinda miss it for the BPM readout (we play to a click as well) but I've found that tapping works pretty well for me.
