    Hi all,
I'm getting my nephew (18) started on bass and we are looking at a Silvertone that purports to be an old closet queen.
My hope is that someone here can shed some light on the thing, how old is it, etc.the sticker on the back of the headstock looks kinda OG old school.
    Pics. Below
    Appreciate any info!
    Thanks

That's got an awful lot of mojo by the looks of it.

Thank you! My spidey senses were tingling when I saw it. We're going to look at it tomorrow.

Im putting together a family band (during Covid why the heck not) my nephew is introverted, creative, big fella. That's most of the bassists I've ever played with lol.
I put my Tele in his hands, first time he'd ever really held a guitar, and the kid didn't want to put it down. Kept noodling and experimenting. That's all I needed to see.

I had a HS student, super shy, fascinated by the bass. Got his hands on it, took off running, really came out of his shell. It was quite the metamorphosis, great guy all along but so much more life energy. Met a New Zealand girl online, wooed & won her, happily married last I heard.

It truly all started with picking up a bass.

TG that's a truly inspiring story. That's exactly what I'm hoping for him. He's so ready and eager to find his thing. I've taken a great interest in him and he's so grateful for somebody driving hard on his behalf. It's a blessing to do.

Well lads, we have a new member of the tribe.
Kid is glowing. Already trying to learn songs as soon as I dropped him off. It's a few hours later - I just called him and he hasn't put it down yet.
I think I called that one. He a Bassist.
