The Creature from the Black Leather Lagoon
Here are a few I've done over the past several years. I buy the material of choice in a sheet and cut it to the shape the customer (or I) want.
Johnny Kidd would probably approve!
I want to play
Mahogany tele with a homemade custom copper pickguard.
No pickguard but a total brass top.
Special cut pickguard for middle P90
Warmoth black pearloid.
@LGOberean fantastic looking Logan family photo!
Man would love to hear more about your teles with mini hum neck and hum bridge. That seems like a great combo that I’ve been wanting to try. Any detailed posts of em?
I like that a lot. I like the deliberate relic/ non relic thing you got going on. You made art as I see it.
I’ve had the MJT for a few months, and it sounds great.
The bridge pickup is a Lollar El Rayo, and I think (not sure) the mini is a Gibson or Epi.
Both pickups sound great.
I’ve modded it a bunch already.
I changed the pickguard and moved the selector switch up top.
It’s has a light two piece book matched swamp ash body and a nice wide, compound radius neck.
I put a Hipshot on it for awhile.
I also put a push/pull phase switch on it.
I’m generally not a “relic” kinda guy, but this one’s a keeper!
It should have it’s new regular tortoise shell pickguard soon.
i don't have this guitar anymore, but it was my take on the madcat from prince to make it fit for strat pickups.
guitars and the road to our tone and sound is sometimes a huge puzzle.
The factory finish was "garbage", you could literally scrape the nitro off with your fingernail. I didn't mind I was gigging the heck of this guitar at the time.
Less is more.
Here's a finger painted pick guard, from Mexico. 62 reissue made in Japan 1986
I like the way this came out since I couldn't find/afford celluloid. It just weighs like 11 lbs!
