All of my Teles are naked because I don’t like pickguards.

Just the kind of tread that makes me want to build something.

Several of mine have started with out a pick guard, but do to my insatiable search for perfect tone, they end up needing a guard to cover routing for different pickups:rolleyes:

The pic in your OP reminded me of a '73 Tele I test drove a few years ago. I just posted about it a day or so ago, so it was fresh on my mind, I guess. It wasn't originally sold without the pickguard, of course. That's just the condition it was in when I saw it in the store. I started not to mention it or post a pic, but then I read that you were posting a pic of a PG-less tele that wasn't your own, so here's a a pic of the one I didn't buy...

Now, as for the one I did buy, or more accurately commissioned to have made for me, I present my Logan Custom "Firecaster II." (BTW, Firecaster I is on the left in my avatar pic.)

My Firecasters are so-called for the lumber from which they're made and the telecaster style body. We had a house fire in 2010, and with some of the salvaged lumber I had Bob Logan of Logan Custom Guitars build me those two teles. The house was built in 1936, and so the lumber, the tops of both guitars, is old growth Longleaf Pine. I wanted as much of that wood grain as possible to show, and so I ordered it without the pickguard. And also with a rear-mounted control plate, for the same reason.

I use transparent stick on guards from LMII that are nitro safe on builds but here are a few.
