My Nashville, loaded with Reville Steel Pole Tele Mojo P90-ish pickups.
A couple more.....don't have a pic of my MIK Fender Squier P-Bass. (white with tortoise 'guard)
Nashville Power Tele, replaced neck due to trussrod issues.
Avatar LPB + tort. The pick is 1968 Rotosound genuine tortoiseshell too I'm sorry to say.
Yes, there are blues tortoises!
I choke up on them pretty tight, lots of gripping surface. I haven't dropped a pick in damned-near forever. Three points, too... three times the playing time.
But that's just me.
Are these catguts?
That’s Moonie (for Moon Pie), the neighbor’s brindle/tortoiseshell kitty.
She hangs out with me sometimes.

I made mine from Acetate (modern Acetate : stable and without solvent de-gassing !) but sorry : on hollowbodies...
Raw material sheets, from Mazzucchelli / Italia :
Cutt to shape :
Beveled and polished :
I think that these "Scales" and "Havanas" patterns - along many others ! - are available in lower thickness than 6mm (1.6, 2.5, 3.2mm AFAIR).
These patterns were the closest approach to the ones used in the late 30s era on Gretsch "Art-Deco" Hollowbody Archtops : "Flamestripes" and "Flakes"...
Here's my red tort strat Warmoth build.
My shoreline gold MJT body, ‘60 Tele, and ‘62 electric mandolin. All sporting the tort.
I know there are some Teles with tort body binding.
