I replaced the Analogman Mini Clone Chorus with the UAFX Orion to get that non-chorus "chorusy" sound. More like a tape delay type sound.
I also wanted another 1176 type compressor (to match my SlideRIG on the other board) after the Timmy (@18v), (still love my Wampler EGO mini (@18v) though) so I thought I'd try out the UAFX 1176.
I also had a J.Rockett HRM v2 on order (managed to hold off the G.A.S. for about a year). The Ecstasy Gave me "more" of what I had, and the Mastotron really pushed it nicely into higher gain territory, but still with a little too much bottom end and hiss on this rig. Also, by itself, it wasn't giving me enough of a step up gainwise.
The first "UhOh" was realizing that I needed 9v for the HRM v2 and the MXR Brick has 2 18v outlets, so I needed another power supply for that board. Luckily, I found a used Ciocks DC10 (same as on my larger board, but sans cables) which gave me what I needed and quieter. I also had an unused Pedaltrain Jr Max that was gathering dust, so I transferred the pedals on my overcrowded Classic jr to the Jr. Max, and the pedals on my above overcrowded Metro 24 to the Classic jr, and everybody's happier! The big board is waiting for the DC10 and some cables.
Signal flow:
Peterson Strobe mini -> Timmy -> UAFX 1176 -> J Rockett Hot Rubber Monkey v2 -> Cornerstone Gladio SC -> Mooer Yellow Comp -> TC Electronic Spark mini -> UAFX Orion Tape Echo -> Hotone Skyline Choir chorus pedal-> TC Electronic Flashback II delay -> EarthQuaker Effects Afterneath v2 Reverb -> JSM Humboldt Simplifier (Pass through output to amp, or line out/XLR out directly to board). `
Now, to THIS board. The HRM2 replaced the Ecstasy, the Mastotron was OVERKILL, but it goes now wherever the Ecstasy does! Those two are a definite PAIR!
The Cornerstone SC is my "is it clean?" pedal (it's not!) It's dynamic, and clear with a bit of boost in the midrange, and nice bite when I dig in. I used to use it in the compressed mode, but am liking it in the more dynamic open mode. The Timmy is "MORE" of my Tele sound with a little bit of hair when I dig in. The two together is where I tend to live relying on my volume (Kinman treble bleed) and tone knobs. The HRM v2 by itself gives me my smooth breakup (doing the job the Ecstasy and Soul Driven do for me). The Timmy pushes the HRM v2 just into pushed smooth gain.
The HRM v2 gives the Gladio SC a second channel with more mids, and not boosting the bass!
The Timmy, HRM v2, and Gladio SC together give me over the top gain that is still controllable with the volume knob!
The 1176 in Sustain mode at 4:1 is magic with my Tele, and the HRM v2, and the Gladio SC each. My other winning combination is the Timmy-1176 -Gladio SC which is a lower gain, pushed lead sound!
The Orion is organic sounding, and not "that same old chorus" thing. I had to keep the mix 50/50 or less to minimize the doubling effect. As an experiment, I added the Hotone Skyline Choir from my other board, giving a slow medium speed, VERY subtle shimmery sound that sounds fantastic combined with the Orion.
All that is really left for this board is a GigRig "More or Less" mounted underneath and a moyo mini expression pedal that I can use when I need volume pedal control.
