It seemed much cooler than just having a "bypass / through" button.
I never want more pedals on a board than this.
SP Compressor > TS808 > Spark Boost > Billion Dollar Boost > Tuner > Delay.
(And yes I need two boosts because they have way different treble characteristics. I thought it was dumb too, believe me.)
I've spent the last 4 months twiddling and rearranging this meshuggah and teaching myself the finer points of gain staging with an AC15c1 to figure how to get all the sounds I need for my band Adjy. I have to switch between sensitive emo boi jangle and a fullout rock and roll roar, usually in the same song.
I constantly made jokes that I dont play guitar, I fiddle with overdrive and gain levels.
...*Christ.* I finally think I settled on an order, and I need to flip like 1 switch and turn a level knob in order to accommodate for different songs.
I think the only thing that might change is the mini ts808. I have an OCD clone coming in the mail. Never owned one, so we'll see how that goes. A lot of people apparently dont like tscreamers into Vox amps? Poppycock I say... the sparkly amp definitely needs a mid push to fake a Marshall JCM 800 / 900 roar. Are there better options for that purpose? (Should I get an SD1? Haha.)
My main revelation was finding out that the final gain stage pedal has the final word on tone... I definitely like boosting *into* a heart-of-the-board pedal and not jumping off it. I like all the tones to sound like they live in the same universe, just levels of intensity and slight eq shifts.
Another iteration. DIY Stratoblaster out, Mooer Yellow Comp in. I've never really jelled with compressors on my Teles, but I discovered the Yellow Comp does wonderful things for my red Hamer Sunburst. It nails James Honeyman-Scott's sound for "Brass In Pocket" and other jangley stuff.
... and two days later, a new addition. Not really a change to the pedalboard... there's no room.
I converted an old Cry Baby shell into an expression pedal for the Grand Canyon. The mini-toggle behind the input jack converts it into a standard passive volume pedal.
Now I gots me some programmin' to do.
Here’s the latest. Almost have enough Fuzz now.
Just added a Quilter Phantom Block DI!
New cables and some other changes.
Korg Pitchblack - BPC Tonebender compact - Zendrive - Klon KTR - Jam Chill Tremolo - Suhr Shiba - Boss dd3 - Boss GE7. The pedalboard itself is a sawn off scaffold plank.
Strat / HS Tele build / PRS into Fender Blues Deluxe for bluesy/rock
My minimalist Pedal board!
After a rebuild.
Changed it again...
Figure I better post this before something changes more EarthQuaker devices pedals coming
Recently read an article elsewhere about Joe Banasama dissing the use of pedals (oh that I could afford X number of vintage amps to switch between) and one about Tom Morello and how he didn't use OD etc in his RATM days.
So, having had a crisis of conscience that I really should have a Fuzz. or TS/BD style pedal .... I decided .... No,. these pedals give me the sound I want ... please note especially ... the Flanger is set very lightly
btw ... whilst at heart I'm a Blues/ 60s R'n'B guy, I"m currently playing in in a 5 piece Drums/Bass/Keys/Rythym-singer/me ... Playing everything from Achy Breaky Heart to While my guitar gently weeps!
PS. I am now settled on this pedalboard and really don't want to go bigger, which would seem to be a logical progression .... Mmmm, we'll see how long that lasts eh!
Here's mine most of the time. Occasionally I put a wah at the front off the board. The Joyo American Sound is my amp cause I play at my church and we go straight into a direct box.
