Made a few adjustments. I gotta quit buying these things.
Same here.. still adjusting. Amp is an Orange Rocker 15.
I got some new cables recently and was able to re-order things to try and get pedals that I want to hit while playing down on the bottom row. I've also been re-ordering to try and preserve sound quality.
I use the FX loop, so the order is actually like this:
Guitar -> Fur Coat (Fuzz) -> Two Stroke (Boost/EQ) -> Hum Debugger -> Kongpressor (Compressor) -> Polytune -> Amp
FX loop is:
Memory Boy -> Polara (Reverb) -> TR-2 Tremolo -> Beat Buddy -> Ditto.
I can use the Memory Boy for chorus/vibrato without delay if need be. I wanted the Memory boy on the right side as the FX Send goes into it and where it is located I can use the expression pedal jack too. All pedals with lines to the amp are on the edge right now so I can plug/unplug it fast if I want to.
Foot switch is just in there to switch channels, maybe it should be down on the bottom row to.
I use the beat buddy + ditto a lot practicing and really wanted to get those down on the bottom row.
I've kind of come to the realization OD/Distortion pedals are just silly with my amp, focusing on boosting + fuzz which work well with low headroom amps/dirty channels.
Might lose the Hum Debugger and try to figure out if there is something else like a Phaser or modulation effect I could benefit from. That's a low priority thing though. Getting rid of that would get rid of the need for a separate power supply.. the Hum Debugger is the only thing on here that can't use the board power.
Updated boards for 2019:
Small board used with Marshall OR20H + 2x12 cab w/ WGS Retro 30 & ET65 speakers and Vox NT15HG2 + 1x12 cab w/ WGS Blackhawk alnico speaker via Radial Bigshot ABY. Just added the Empress ParaEQ, replacing MXR 10 band EQ pedal.
Large board used with Fender Mustang III v2 w/ Eminence Swamp Thang speaker and the Marshall OR20H + 2x12 cab via Radial Bigshot SW2 ABY. Just added the Strymon Flint, great pedal!
I'm no longer able to play out due to disability, so this is purely for pleasure, playing blues & classic rock. And yes, I am an OD junkie!
After looking through this thread, I have a serious case of board envy. My board gets me everything I need though as a rock rhythm player.
I run the board into a Vox AC15C1 that’s at the edge of breakup on the Top Boost channel. The signal flow runs right to left (tuner through VCR) with the Tumnus as my nearly always on pedal. Where I’ve got it set it adds just a bit of compression and hair to my light dirt basic tone and enhances the natural sound of the amp. The only times I don’t use it are when I want to clean up my tone.
I just sold five pedals and downsized to a Voodoo Lab Dingbat (tiny) with factory power supply, which only powers four pedals. I guess I really need to be choosy going forward, especially since one of those pedals will always be a tuner!
Simple and to the point... I like your board...
Just added "The Chill" by Jam Pedals, really good sounding tremelo.
I like having to only worry about two connections and one power source
The portability's nice, too.
Those built-in quarter-sized speakers are a joke, though, they're as bad as you'd expect
If you were to give the TL a review...?
It's ultra awesome and super ninja cool
Seriously, it's great, anyting specifically you'd like to know about it, just ask
Hey cheers... I'm just um and erring about getting something lightweight that can do some fairly basic stuff but does it well for quick in and out gigs... I'm a blues guitarist, just need a bit of verb, OD, boost, tuner, wah and Phaser... it has to play nice with my AC30.
I just need something I can tweak to taste and switch between clean, boost and OD but still have some decent headroom...
I already have a pedalboard that does all that, it's awesome and it took me lightyears to get it to where it is... but it just weighs a ton and a half... between the AC30 and the pedalboard plus the guitar/s it feels like I'm gonna get 4 hernias... lol
You can pick up these units very inexpensively, if you keep your eyes open...
My bandmate uses a Boss ME-25 and it will meet most of your needs. He uses a separate mini boost pedal in front of it. We do classic rock/R&B.
That poster and I were talking about a specific unit, the vox valvetronix tonelab ex.
I think that was pretty clear
Sorry, I missed the original post.
I used to play and recorded through an ME20 years ago, I also had an ME20B... eventually overtime I traded them in for other gear... wasn't sure whether they were "my tone" then... I saw blowtorch's TL and wondered whether they were any better and what his thoughts were... cheers mate
