It is simple, but its also color coordinated, evenly spaced, perfectly clean; all of which makes it like comfort food for my pedal obsession...

Worry not. One day you'll retire and like me you'll have absolutely nothing to do except obsess over things like this.:D

Edit - Not to go off topic but I noticed we have the same taste in amps. Love my 5:50 Express.

Beachbum, send me a PM and we'll talk 5:50's... I'm curious about your choice of tubes.

This is what makes the cut for me this ten seconds. I made the board itself from some nice pieces of oak and stained it to match the furniture in my home office (since that's where I play...don't judge).

I remember getting both of them at either Lowes or Home Depot. The grey is Rustoleum textured paint. The black is also textured but I can't remember the name.

This is my board as it currently stands. I swap things out all the time.

I reorganized my pedalboard and removed the Joyo California pedal and added the EVH channel pedal. I had to move everything around to satisfy my moderate OCD. I also need to relabel the Loopmaster since I changed the loops a bit. I also got an amp stand for my EVH 5150iii and it makes a HUGE difference in the tone! I had to readjust a few settings to compensate. I had too much highs when it was flat on the floor which makes sense since I was getting the bass reflection off the floor.

This setup had evolved quite a bit...especially with the arrival of the 5150iii. Eventually I will make a smaller board for the 65 PRRI but for now I will just plug my tele straight into the amp when I need a clean tone fix. However, for now I am simply floored by the tones I can get form the 5150iii !

I put some pedals through the effects loop because of the high gain of the 5150iii. The chain to the loop is as follows:

Amp Send>chorus>delay>Trio>Digitech Jamman Solo XT>Amp Return

It always amazes me when I see boards like this. I just don't know how you hit the right pedal at the right time. I'm not a slamming or criticizing, just a wonderment(?). (just using your pic as an example Danny) I know I for one would wind up hitting the wrong effect...I do it now with my ME-70 and all those switches are lined up nice. :D I'm probably just too ham "fisted" (footed?) to make a board like that work.

    Nice rig none-the-less.

It takes planning. I know I will want a specific sound for a specific song, so I usually make sticky with the set and put it on my tuner. That way, if I forget, I look at my tuner and I know what pedal combo (or lack thereof) I used at rehearsal and can get there quickly. I hardly ever have more than an OD and delay on at the same time, maybe Reverb and boost as well on occasion.

But... All the planning can still mean you stomp on the wrong switch every now and then!!! It's hard when I'm leading worship from electric because I also have to sing, but when I'm just doing my thing, it's not super complicated.

A little dirt heavy at the moment (normally run 3-5), but I just got the SUF and am having a blast with it for solos.

Yeah those Ram's Heads can be a blast, but on a more serious note you should let me borrow that Lightspeed sometime
