I put this one together recently. My first P90 guitar... there will be more. Squier VM neck, a no name strat body I refinished, Fleor Alnico P90s. Sounds like what I want out of a strat, with beefier single coil tones.

My one and only Strat remains a 2006 Eric Johnson maple neck. I may play with others but it is a forever guitar. It’s hanging out here with a couple of its brothers.

Glad you suggested the strat might be really old. That’s a decent relic job I suppose-;). It’s a partscaster. It’s a copy of the Custom Shop Rory Gallagher model. The neck and body were done by a guy in Ch#%a, the pickups are Dimarzio Area58/61/67 and the wiring was redone as well. The neck is great, and the guitar overall is more resonant than any of my other guitars. Thanks.

Hard to say. It’s a toss up between my 07 Eric Johnson Strat that sounds great in any amp I’ve plugged it into or my 94 Squier Series Strat. There both amazing but I’ll tell you, I’ve been playing that 94 black Strat nearly every day for the last 3 or 3-1/2 years I’ve owned it.

My only Strat was this early MIK Squier Strat, bought new in about 1988.
    6EA3C672-47C4-431D-BC7F-BF4C650C07C2.jpeg

About 5 years ago I replaced the scratchplate and electronics - it now has a superswitch to do some fancy pickup switching (B&M in series, B&M in parallel, B&N, M&N, N) and G&L-style master PTB (treble and bass cut) in place of the two tone controls.
    D72DCEC1-953F-431D-9A5F-A49DD23BF9EF.jpeg

It used to be a huge favourite of mine. But you know, in the last 5-6 years I didn’t play it much even after the mods. I mostly had the trem decked, and the volume control is in the wrong place, and so is the pickup selector, and I find 5-way switches fiddly live. So it now lives with my daughter and I replaced it with this:
    4B5C50D2-CCA8-44F6-9BE4-B6F2E24D074A.jpeg
Shergold Masquerader SM03-SD: Tele-style bridge and pickup, two Strat pickups, master volume and tone, sensibly placed controls including the un-angled pickup switch. It came with a 5-way switch but I recently replaced it with a 3-way and a push-pull on the tone control to bring in the in-between positions. (The knobs are now black Tele-style knurled knobs, absolutely my favourite style.) So currently my favourite Strat... isn’t a Strat!

My only Strat just got some new strings today (Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10-46) and a bit of cleaning/fretboard oiling/slight pickup adjust:

It's actually a tie. Both are amazing guitars and have the exact same Suhr pickups and stainless steel frets.

I would be had pressed to pick the favorite of my three Stratocaster’s.

They all look, feel, play, and sound different.

My ‘70’s Ash Stratocaster is setup with great low action, it is so easy to play, and I love that it’s vintage.

My Fiesta Red American Special Strat, l love the color, love the jumbo frets, rolled neck, and Custom Shop Texas Special pickups.

My Sunburst American Standard, love the SRV vibe (changed pick guard only), the Rosewood neck, and everything that the American Standards offer.

    I can’t choose.

Mine is just another Sunburst Strat... A 60th Anniversary Commemorative model from 2014. Not a great pic- It looks so much better in real life. Great pickups in these, I think anyway.

I got this one just before the lockdown and haven't had a chance to gig it yet.
It's a real good player and it sounds great.

The one I play the most right now is THIS.

    DSC02394.JPG
I made this one as an analog for for two strats that I always wanted to own.
    - The 1983 Two Knob strat
    - The Shecter Dream machine.

Made the body completely by hand using left over lumber from a factory which makes stairs, used old pickups I had lying around and a Dimarzio HS-1 although I am thinking of replacing that one with a SDS-1 by the same brand since it sounds kinda bright with the metal pickguard.
    DSC02395.JPG
The picture doesn't do it justice, it's a nice transparant burgundy in real life.

Cool. Is that a Carvin humbucker? They’re the only ones I’ve seen with so many poles. I do like a HSS black strat. My first Strat was black and my second was too. You can’t go wrong.

I believe the humbucker is a Carvin. There’s a coil tap switch that is hard to see.
