Bought my first Strat in 1981 as a birthday gift to myself for my 20th birthday.
I ended up playing Strats exclusively for 20 years before I ended up getting back into the Gibson style stuff that I played as a teenage picker.
Over the years I have owned more Strats than I can remember & every once in a while I buy another one.
I bought two Strats this year but I am really playing my (new to me) Greco SE, with a February 1982 serial number. This Greco SE was made just a couple months before Fender Japan production started at the Fuji Gen factory, which is where this beast originated. This Greco is now 38 years old. The neck is likely the thickest neck I have had on any Strat I have owned. The color looks like 'Bubble Gum Pink Metallic'. It's a great Strat & is currently the only Strat I play out of about 15 Strats; yes, it is that much fun & it is that good. I bet Ritchie Blackmore wouldn't touch this thing.

So, show us you latest 'favorite' Strat

Holy crap, that Greco is amazing. Don't think I've ever seen one with a matching headstock...in any color.

Here's one I put together a little while ago:

    Strat.jpg

    Mighty Mite neck
Random sunburst body off of eBay.
RH Factor pickups neck and middle, vintage DiMarzio in bridge.

The planets just seemed to align with this build. I have another partscaster Strat that's been my number one for a long time, but this one almost knocks it out of the box. Plays smooth, looks cool, and sounds killer. The DiMarzio is mean and snarly like a P-90.

Ritchie Blackmore and Robin Trower would be all over it.

‘79-‘80. Not back-breakingly heavy and sounds amazing.

This is the latest strat - partscaster and one of my lockdown leftie series.

Its also one of the fifty quid strats - £25 e-bay bid on a body and same on a neck - if you win you win - sometimes they go together well and sometimes they end up as decoys on the workshop wall to keep people away from the good stuff, or get given away to friends' kids to learn on.

This particular one is exceptional - the initial build used the junk tuners that were on the neck, (that somebody had already started to work on), and the junk pickups that were on the plate, but it setup well and after a fret level and dress the overall geomety of it turned out well, so had some tex mex's on a LH plate and a set of RH locking tuners in the workshop shop and moved some parts off other guitars that didn't merit having them - a nice guitar albeit a weird spec with a rh neck on a LH body (but its my spec) and it sounds great and gets played a lot so is my current favourite (but isn't every fresh build!)

I've owned literally dozens of Strats over the years, from a '65 to several American Standards, American Deluxes, Lonestar and Roadhouse models, Japanese Foto Flames, American Specials, Mexican Standards, Squier CVs, and an American Pro, and my Performer is the very best one I've ever owned. It plays and sounds better than any other one I've ever had.

    My 2008 Fender EJ Strat.
It has a 3 digit serial number, and it’s the nicest production Strat I’ve ever had.
I did have a super nice 2007 CS 60 relic that was amazing.
Anyways, this is my one and only Strat.
It has Kinman noiseless pickups and a custom pickguard with a master volume/switch.
The switch allows me to get the outside two pickups.
It rings beautifully, and stays in tune well.
I use GHS EJ11 strings on it.
    Great guitar!

Woe! Oh! My! That is interesting!

Never seen one with a painted neck, that’s cool how you can see the gold undercoat

2007 SRV with EJ writing mod. Modified pickguard and pickup covers, but I have the originals and whammy bar. It’s the only Strat I’ve ever had, and any one that could top it would have to be pretty damn awesome. The pick taped to the headstock is Stevie’s. I used to see him play, right up close, all the time when I was in college.

This is one of two guitars that I will likely hang on to for a very long time.
