Cool space.
Kali has some very affordable speakers.
I have that very same rug design in my
mix area. Great minds, and all that!
Thanks for sharing!

I love my Kali’s. I even talked/demo’d my Emmy winning buddy into using a bunch of LP6’s as his surround mixing system.

Here’s current state on my desk. Probably a few changes coming up, but mostly what it will be.

I’m going to miss the windows and river view, but the new space with be much more practical and eventually, personalized and adapted to the purpose.

I haven’t read or heard anything but praise for the Kalis. I’ve been figuring on just the the low-end LP6 for a while, but I might spring for the newer 5-inch 3-way coax model.

Rug, Walmart’s finest. I removed the cat puke after taking this photo and before rolling it up for the movers.

Due to other things, I never got moved onto a good computer table. Still in the abandoned bedroom in my Mom’s old house. Still on my great grand mother’s old 100+ year old table. It folds out but I never did it. Just have a blanket over the table to protect it. This is how it looks at the moment.

I've had my gear for about 3 months, but only a few days of actual recording. I have been spending about half the time getting the ergonomics dialed in. I don't have a bad back, but it sure started to hurt before I made some changes. Keyboard and mouse are in drawers that pull out within easy reach when recording acoustic, and the fader port is easy to reach as well. A piano bench replaced my swivel stool (the stool seemed like a good idea, but it was the devil's spawn), and I built a scrapwood platform for my feet that really took the strain off my back.

Okay, I wasn’t gonna show this, but we are amongst friends here ... right?;) A work in progress for the world’s smallest recording desk. I just got some ceiling foam panels and trying out how thick rigid foam I need behind them. Sheet rock still in the works. The studio monitors will be flush with the foam and then swung down for use. It all is very functional, but the desk is just too small. I think a double decker and a bit deeper is needed.
BTW, that is my wife’s present goto bass … for now.

found the need for a more appropriate and ergonomic home workspace during the pandemic, just finished putting together this desk for myself a few weeks ago. the lil slats that elevate the recessed second tier are walnut legs from an old coffee table that i repurposed, the rest is almost entirely ikea products that i cut and altered to meet specific dimensions. very proud of how it turned out and it's been an absolute gamechanger for my workflow. i still have a few more cables to make before i have all of the hardware patched in seamlessly, and then the next step is some under desk cable management and beginning stages of room treatment

i do a lot of guitar tech work on the side as well, and it's been absolutely perfect for that. i just cover the entire desktop in that green matting and brew a pot of coffee and i'm off

so excited to look through this thread!
