Yeah, that Wonderbar is a GREAT trem! Also one of the few that doesn't need any routing, so an easy replacement for the original hardtail.

Sorry....I don't own any abused instruments. My oldest is a '95 MIA Strat that still looks almost new.

I take care of my instruments, the distressed look doesn't work for me.

    Looks legit to me

I’ve seen candy apples that look pretty close

One of the telltale signs of those old AVRI’s is that the sealer is ever hardly worn through

If you see one with a lot of wood it’s usually a red flag

I love how they actually used the gold on those

I was looking at a newer one (American original) that was reliced and it appears that there is no undercoat

I am sure you meant to say 'Rorschach Inkblot Test'. OK, I will go away and smoke my cigar now.

Yes I love the gold also. They also use a silver but I’ve always like the gold. It makes the red seem deeper if that makes sense.

Also the AO’s definitely have a poly undercoat just like this one does. People say it’s thinner than the previous avri series but I’ve tried stripping a fiesta red tele and the poly was pretty thick

1998 Squier made in Korea. Not 'beaten up' per se... but a natural road-worn elegance

You've got a problem! OK, here's some back shots - not all that IMG_20200916_175712.jpg IMG_20200916_175736.jpg IMG_20200916_175759.jpg obviously worn - but STAY TUNED for another guitar!

This is the back of my '90 PRS Custom. Hundreds and hundreds of bar gigs through the years took their toll...

    All beautiful.
What are the special pickups if you don’t mind me asking.

1967 ES125 TDC. I bought it in 1981 ($125) and have since replaced the pickups (it had humbuckers when I got it - these are Vintage Vibe CC Rider and P90), tailpiece, pickguard and tuners.

All the finish wear and holes were in it when I got it. Some of the holes make sense - there was a vibrola tailpiece, now gone, and somebody probably screwed plates over the f holes to stifle the screech. Others are quite mysterious.

Lots of thumb-lovin in the cowboy chord zone, too.

I can’t say anything about other guitars but I’ve got a chip on my A.O 60’s and the finish is definitely thin, I’m not sure how thick the sealer is though

Oh the top nitro finish very thin. The poly on the top and back are thin. The sides of my tele was really thick poly. FE77C9A5-C9E0-4A7B-BD22-DAEAFE30DE77.jpeg 08AB6A52-9DFE-4209-A5C2-C43D35BF33E8.jpeg 2E293E95-BC33-47C0-92A1-0C326FBA5021.jpeg
