    So...

What do you think this does for the resale value? I assume at a certain point they get so relic'd that the value doubles but until then.... :D

My 2015 65 AV/PV has no wear at all but I just started to play it recently a bit. My 2012 1st46 58 AV/PV has the usual edge chips and a few dings but not much wear.

Dry light wood, roasted alder body, and nitro finish pay off in the sound. Had a lot of Strats but this is my all time fave.

I have a 2014 '59 AV Strat. It's black with a rosewood board, and a great great guitar. It's actually checking really nicely, which I was kind of surprised about. It's kept in a pretty stable temperature, but I do live in a pretty dry and cold climate, so that's probably why.

Here are some pics, but it's pretty tough to capture due to the colour of the guitar.

My 62 AVRI TCSB Precision is holding up real well. Not enough dings or signs of wear to do photos, even! FWIW I use half round strings or nylon taped which means there is little or no fret wear either. Wish I had kept all the case candy. Oh - and the vintage brown case is showing the most signs of wear!!

I apologize that this isn't an AVRI, but I had my '91 AmStd Tele painted Ice Blue Metallic over the original sunburst poly. I told the guy that I wouldn't mind if the finish wore thru and exposed the 'burst in places. Hasn't happened yet, and probably won't in my lifetime even though it's my main gigging guitar.
It'll be a cool surprise for whoever ends up with the guitar after I'm gone though.

Frank Entele started with a Highway One body and beat it up a bit. Bolt on a Mex Strat 21 fret neck, add some brass saddles, Dawgtown pups (thx John) with no cap on the neck pup. Treat all chrome to an overnight in muriatic acid vapors and then a Kirchen mod.

Plays great with low action, sounds like a Tele through a deluxe reverb, super reverb and jtm45.

I didn’t know they made these in black I’ve got an AV 65 in burgundy mist and I’ve been having a GAS attack over the AV 59s.
Did they only make them in black for a year? , like the 65s only had shoreline gold and burgundy mist for 2014

Ps. your rear strap button looks loose

I don't know about the avri but, I had a 2005 Honey Blonde Stratocaster Highway One and a couple pieces of the paint(about one inch in size) just sort of fell off making it an instant relic lol. I think Memorex's post sparked that memory.

I'm not sure how long they made them in black for, I believe it was for a couple of years but it's definitely not the most common colour. Would have loved a sonic blue one, but you take what you can get.

I think thats just a reflection, as the strap button is snug. Thanks though.

The AVRI line has been discontinued. They were replaced by the American Originals.

They dont make the AVRI line anymore, unless you buy the Wildwood Thinskin AVRI
