You want relicing? You can't handle true relicing!! Another currently on-bench (since you asked). Some folks seriously do crave the biker bling

I've seen super extreme strap versions like this, with 2" or 3" spikes, that's just scary territory.
Pass!

So someone commissioned you to build that? Must be a famous beebop player 🤪🤪🤪. 2” or 3” spikes? That might be classified as a weapon! We play some pretty tight venues, so I’d likely be relicing the rhythm guitarist’s guitar with one of those, that or his arm! At least I’d get some girth.

You learn pretty fast how to handle these when you are making one, they'll poke you good from one side, and pierce, scratch and actually draw blood from the other while folding the tangs. Should get danger pay!

I love neoplasticism so when I saw it in strap form, I had to have it. The pheasants are cool but it’s a one sided nylon strap so not very comfy at all. The last is a cheap, white leather strap with design by my partner at my behest. I’ve always wanted a strap with that Bowie lyric. Let all the children boogie!

I checked them out. There’s some very cool looking straps on that site! Honestly, I don’t know how they can make them for that price. I may order one just to see if they’re as comfortable as they are cool. This one caught my eye:

Okay, here it is on my 96 Strat Plus (yes, the pickups are Fender Noisless, not Lace Sensors). I think it works well with that guitar and it’s very soft. I’ll try it out at rehearsal Tuesday AFTER I install the strap lock hardware on it.

An unusual adjective for a shoulder strap. I just get cheap Nylon ones , black, for $3.00 when school starts up, that's when they're in plentiful supply. I have 7 guitars so it's cheaper to just do that.

This is my favorite. It was a Christmas gift from my wife a few years ago. She bought it directly from Jamie Nudie, granddaughter of Nudie Cohn of Nudie's Rodeo Tailors. At the time, she had four of these, wish I'd bought them all. If you watch classic country music videos from the Porter Wagoner show, Hee Haw, Johnny Cash show, etc. you'll see these straps used often.

Where did you get this? I like the 40’s space aesthetic. That’s very cool!

I have always liked the vintage style straps for comfort. I did some guitar mod work for someone, who in addition to paying me way too much threw in the best strap I have ever worn!! To say this thing soft is an understatement. Super high quality stuff!! Hard to appreciate what a difference a good strap can make on the standing for long periods with a guitar on your back.

I bought some vintage style straps while Japan and this one puts them to shame. Not sexy, but really well done.
