I have this one on my CS356 Gibson. I took a shot of the back of the strap to show the padding. I have a plan soft wide strap off my SG with no padding, but this one is my favorite. I’ve had it for about 20 years, so I consider it to be a permanent resident by law.

This is a non padded, wide and very soft strap for my SG Standard. The part that goes through the adjustment loops used to bunch up, so I took it to my shop (auto upholstery) and sewed that sucker in place permanently using the same color nylon thread that was used on the border of it when they made it. Even without padding it’s very comfortable because of the width and because the leather is so soft.

. There was an entire thread on the Fender case-Candy strap and it wasn’t good for the most part. As corny as it looks, it’s actually pretty comfortable. I saw John Mayer using one at a live show years ago and decided if he can sport one, so can I. Hey, it was free - I’ve got 2 more in fact, but they’re still in the plastic package they came in. Who knows, 50 years from now they may be worth something.

Yeah, it was just a hand-me-down! But, did it come with one of your awesome straps? You should post more of your beautiful craftsmanship on here - we’d love to gawk! Thanks for that contribution to the thread.

Animal cruelty!
My Dad has gators in his pond way down south, and he doesn’t really want them there. I outta go down there and do some “exotic strap” shopping on my own. The game warden several years ago told him it’s illegal to kill them, but said he’s heard of a few dying from “lead poisoning.” Strangely, not long after that, some did mysteriously die from apparent lead poisoning. What a coincidence.Animal cruelty!

I checked them out. There’s some very cool looking straps on that site! Honestly, I don’t know how they can make them for that price. I may order one just to see if they’re as comfortable as they are cool. This one caught my eye:

You want relicing? You can't handle true relicing!! Another currently on-bench (since you asked). Some folks seriously do crave the biker bling
I've seen super extreme strap versions like this, with 2" or 3" spikes, that's just scary territory.
