Thanks Russ! It's hard to keep up.
Again... great track. Thanks.
In '67 I was 13, and we're going to see Hendrix, but friend's ditsy mom couldn't remember the name of the artist when buying tickets to the three day event but recognized Chuck Berry. So in the car to the show we believe it's going to be Jimi and only find out then. After a month of planning and salivating for Jimi the tx said Chuck Berry. We about died, Jimi was the next night. Mom? a total ditz, and she was always like that.
But this was '67 and they weren't in any shortage of bands, I believe Jimi may have been in the crowd. So they started off with Spirit, a very San Francisco psychedelic band, they were cool, I got to play with Randy once. Then came Santana, holy moly, he was on fire, I never heard anything like it, he gave us the "killer rock hit" we were looking for, worth the whole show. And then we saw Chuck Berry and I believe he played My Ding A Ling "My Dingaling?" That was rough for me and my friend being such Jimi fans.
Santana made the show a win,, I never did see Jimi :/
Katana brown mode, dialed in from a youtube setting I saved on paper. Sounds a bit like his old Boogie from his first big lp. My other Santana tone, not used, is similar but dialed in to sound more like Smooth. Not saved as presets, iI want tones I can dial in, it's old school and that fits me just fine, in fact it's a blast, interaction with gear in live performance is what I want, it's like working with a living thing,
That's very sweet, such an uplifting bt, you navigate it like a good surfer.
Cool, the first part of the video with the car parade was shot in Petaluma, Ca. Also in American Grafitti.
You played very recognizable Smooth tone and copped the Santana vibe. Killer,
Hey BB, it don't mean a thang, and I don't mind,,, but I gots to know,,, how did you get that avatar picture of me with my sweet little Anchiva sitting on my lap?
I recorded an attempt and I thought it wasn't too bad. The phone rang I answered and a long conversation ensued.
After the phone call I got back to my track, I thought I could listen to it, set the levels, and that would be it. I thought I had played slightly asymmetrical, and uniquely.
It sounded as if a untalented George Bensen imitator walked out of a Taco Bell and stepped on a cat.
You have excellent ears my friend... Do not miss a single reference!
Thanks for the nice words.
Liked the melody... Thick and bitey tone, good for Santana stuff!
Somehow, what you did reminded me of Santana's Europa. Great tone, and nice melodies!
@Squier by Squier - Reminded me Santana's Black Magic Woman... the fuzzy thick tone, the bends etc. Addition of wah is nice... Nice one.
@fendrguitplayr - Thick and fuzzy... I like your melodies.
@NWinther - Nice one, fluid, cool melodies.
Nice taming of the big od, sweetly lyrical,
Nice Dorian feel with some blues too,
I love the stress you put on the bends, totally blues. Good job.
Crying tone on the edge, lots of cool pinch harms, urgent, bad ass, love it.
