I’m doing a Strat build and want to get a neck from MusiKraft. I want at least a 3A flame, quarter sawn, maybe roasted with a dark Indian rosewood board. I can’t decide on the flame level or roasting.

My inbound Musikraft neck. Quartersawn is $80 and I think this is the lowest level of flame, for just $20 more:

Wow, yeah that’s pretty nice. Pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. I just wish MusiKraft would tint and clear, not just the tinted oil finish. Which is probably pretty nice. Warmoth does the vintage tint and gloss but add $120

Wow, 5a roasted might be the way to go. Is that the hard V neck shape? Looks so good.

My broadcaster now has a .95 to .95 V and feels amazing. For this Strat I want something with a little more shoulder so I’ll probably go with the 52 U on this one. Definitely going to get it roasted though, that looks really good

I don't have a picture, but I flammed my neck yesterday, burning two huge piles, about 2 years of brush and scrap. There's something therepuetic about burning stuff down, watching the coals and embers, having a beer at the end.

That roasted Maple is special. I don't think I have a single flame Maple neck.

They have a special running, a 3A roasted neck for $150. I'm thinking of getting a 1 piece maple Tele neck, would be $385 with a compound neck and the roasted 3A flame.

Yeah I know that’s actually pretty cheap. I’m torn on a maple or rosewood board!!

Not exactly a telecaster...

About 15yrs ago, I commissioned a banjo from Bob Flesher. He had some issues at the time and it took nearly 2 yrs to finally get the banjo. He was apologetic and told me he dug out some special wood in compensation...

Of course, Bob is a master engraver...

This one actually was for a strat type although I cut it with a tele style heel and headstock.

It's a custom V 83/87 while I don't have small hands, I don't have huge fingers so I go with smaller size neck.

The thing is amazing.

Did you get the standard edge roll or heavily rolled?I got a Clapton V semi rolled neck and really like it but I am thinking of getting the smaller 83/87 V with heavily rolled edge for a strat build.

It's a semi rolled and since I'm a thumb over player I kinda have regrets about it.

Imo any thumb over player must take an heavily rolled neck.

Digging up my old thread but I finally bought a neck for my Strat partscaster. Went with MusiKraft just because they had the specs I wanted

Vintage construction
Quarter sawn 5a flame and roasted
1.65” nut, 9.5 radius, 6105 frets
Huge V-D .95” all the way
Aged tinted oil finish

So should be about 6 years before I see it but I’ll post pics once I have it in my hands. It’s going on a really nice swamp ash MJT body with Bakelite black guard
