    Just on the quick:
Screen calibration or not, different color profiles etc etc...
It's not relevant to compare colors in pictures taken at different places, different times and first and foremost with different cameras with unknown settings.
The camera factor will usually influence more than all the other factors.

And monitor settings, however important they may be, is not the only possible variable in a computer's rendering of colors either.

So don't fool yourselves into thinking colors can be compared this way at all, folks. Just sayin'...;)

No problem, I just felt a little silly once I realized I was actually THIRD in line to try and fix it up for you! It is a cool picture. It's got me wondering if I can find any pics of my very first guitar that I got back when I was 12 or 13. A Lotus Strat. It was actually a very beautiful guitar. Should have kept it AND learned to play it. Wound up trading it for a bass because that's what I had to play in order to play in my friend's band.

I've got a red MIJ mid-80s Strat that I believe is Dakota Red. They usually go for $500 or less. Perhaps they made Teles during that time period too?

    Happy hunting,
    Michael

Hey folks, I'm thinking of stripping and refinishing my 52 RI with Dakota Red. How much would it cost in the states to refinish laquer?

Forum member FredDairy had his '52RI refinished in Dakota Red. You find his PM adress in the memberlist section on the home page.

Shoot him a PM - he's a real nice guy and will be able to answer your question I guess.

Here is my recent all-Fender parts, Dakota Red partscaster.

    The neck may look familiar...

I know this thread is old and you may not hang around here anymore, but I’m trying to recreate a 65 in original Dakota Red.... do you still have a picture of this guitar . . . It’s a dead picture link now.
