    CALIBAN335,
Now that's one sharp looking Thinline. I especially like the Charlie Christian pickup, what a cool accent on an already knockout looking piece!
How would you characterise the sound of the CC p/up compared to the sound of a standard tele front unit on a Thinline? I'm curious.

This is simply gorgeous. I like black but not Thinline and I don't really like tortoise guards but this simply looks stunning. [IMG]Gotta keep my eye on a black Thinline body now. [IMG]

Did you do the route for the CC? What are the dimensions?

    Tele0053:

I'm always at a loss when trying to describe the sound of a pickup, but here goes. The CC has a deeper, fuller tone to my ears in comparison to the standard neck pickup in a '69 Thinline RI. It definitely has more power and distorts nicely. If I back off on the tone and volume, I can get a convincing jazz box sound. I should also note that I had the 1 meg pots replaced with 250k and the bridge was replaced with a Wilkinson compensated. Both of those will affect tone as well. I'm very happy with the CC which is paired with a Lollar Special T.

    telechaser:

I had all the mods to this guitar done by a tech. I don't know the dimensions of the CC. It is a Lollar and it came with fairly detailed installation instructions.

I've had guitars modded in the past and been disappointed with the results, but this guitar sounds great. I'd recommend Lollar to anyone.

My 'NoCaster' relic build. I had been thinking of swaping the bakelite guard for a single ply white guard, but there's just something about 'black on black' that's just too cool

My late 90's AS Tele - with the neck flaking found on those models. The other is a home-built esquire.

Fender 80's MIJ toploader with a replacement neck (would have originally been a maple board) to which a red scratchplate was added a la Wilko Johnson. Un-modified MIM Standard, and my first Telecaster a 90's James Burton Signature model.
