I’m a Les Paul/Tele —> Marshall/Fender Guy, but those big body jazzers are just so nice to look at.

Some really sweet style here! Is that an old harmony with new feet and grill cloth?

I love my 57 Twin RI. It does everything I need. Like most tweeds it has exceptional midrange complexity, rounded highs and thick distortion when cranked. The dual rectifiers help to stiffen up the bass. Just a great sounding amp that sounds good with all my guitars.

But for a smaller venue, it's overkill and gets heavy to carry around. So I find myself using this more and more. It's a Mission kit that I built 6 years or so ago. Never had one problem with it and it sounds great with my Strat or Tele. No drive pedal needed. Turn the amp up to around 8 and use the guitar volume to control the gain/distortion. Works great in my trio. I got someone online to make me the nameplate for $20.

That is some beautiful Mid-Century style! I’m going to show this to my wife and start advocating for a living room amp. It might mean she argues for an Eams chair, though [emoji38]

Things on the amp front remained mostly unchanged for the last 2 1/2 years (see post #337) until this monster snuck into the house recently:

DLS40CST, the special Sweetwater edition with a Creamback in it. It's nice to have a real Marshall in the house after 25 years without. Dunno what I'm going to use it for, but I like having it.

In the interest of full disclosure, I also have a Vox MV50 Rock model. I most recently used it to power my talkbox for some '70s rock at my highschool reunion. However, I also took it to a friends house recently, where we played it through a 2x12 Creamback cabinet, along side the DSL and a Kemper full of professionally-made amp profile. The little Vox may have been the best-sounding "Marshall" in the room. Through good speakers, the little beastie just plain rocks.
