On a double lap steel guitar, are they each tuned to a different key, or is one an octave or two higher? My momma said there is no such thing as a stupid question, but I feel rather uninformed for asking...

Yea that was the main reason I built it, 'cause I was always changing tunings. I figured if it had two necks I could switch back and fourth between the two. It works pretty good, but it's hard to go right from one to the other in the middle of a lick,, well It is for me anyway

It was never meant to be a full guitar, just a test bed for my pickups, but it is odd. Plays though, albeit with the right finesse...

That kinda looks like my leghorn hens, and in any case,a rooster is just a male chicken so you can still chicken pick away!

Maybe not really odd, but this was built for a band I was in.

Mahogany body, transparent plexiglass pick guard with laser printed graphics below. Crappy maple neck, 70's reclaimed pickup. Overall, sounds as bad as it looks.

All our songs were about booze, and the guitar is shaped after the most popular local brand of Pisco, a sweet and strong grape distillate that mixes like heaven with ice and Coke.

As a side note, although we never properly recorded let alone played any formal gig, one of our songs is still semi popular among late teens and twenty-some year old college students... 15 year later than the band!
