Woowhhh, what a beauty!
My Fender Japan FSR Telecaster Custom Doublebound Old Lake Placid Blue, 2015, Fender USA Bridge and ’62 pickups.
Thank you. This one just really hangs together beautifully and has been a go-to guitar. All parts were bought used. The Broadcaster bridge pickup with the the responsive ash body is a winner.
This is heaven!
Question: is this a '62RI or a Custom '62RI?
I bought one-a these
Still a huge fan of Lake Placid Blue. IMO, Fender does not produce enough models available in Lake Placid Blue. I'm of course thinking about a MIM Standard Telecaster in Lake Placid Blue but... with an unavailable Rosewood fretboard. You have to spend a LOT more than $599 MIM Standard money to get a Fender with those two details, LPB and Rosewood fretboard. $1000 For an American Special Telecaster. I digress...
I hope to have a Lake Placid Blue Telecaster some day... More pics!
Exactly why I built my own!
It’s known as a Fender Telecaster Custom '62. This is a "Made in Japan" model TL62B OLB ("Old Lake Placid Blue").
I understand it, it was "FSR" in 2015, i.e., small run for some dealers, but I got it used. I put on the USA '62 Custom pickups, bridge and electronics myself it comes originally with vintage spec Japan made pickups.
The build quality is exceptional. I just wanted the USA '62 pups as I'd put them on another build and I really like them and thought they'd be perfect for this model.
here's one for sale
Boy this is a dinosaur thread. Well since I couldn't post a pic way back in 2011 I'll post one now. It's a '95 top loader I converted to a Nashville with a custom set of Onamac pickup. A Tall Blues Tele set and a Full Blues Strat middle. Strat "quack" with a Tele "feel". Also the color of the very first Fender Jazz I ever owned.
2013 Pure Vintage 64' tele.
I've got this one...
Used to have these...
Here's mine, a 2011 MIM that I just got this week.

Long gone, but still my favorite combo.
