One came up near me for a good deal.

Will this be suitable for bedroom/low volume use ? I’m just a bedroom players as I don’t gig and have little kids.

Looking for good amp overdrive at low volumes.

Currently run pedals through a blues jr or silver face champ - i make do but have always wanted that bona fide Marshall sound for my les Paul.

Yay or nay ?

Much appreciated!!

Can I get good amp overdrive at bedroom levels/ low volume ?
Of course! But also, of course, overdriven tubes always sound better turned up. Turned down, the tones aren’t as inspiring — but that’s the same with any Master Volume amp that makes its overdrive/distortion in the pre-amp (like the DSLs).

Go watch a YouTube video if you want verification.

I've read in more than a few places on the internet that DSL20CR does not sound exactly like a half-powered DSL40CR. Just saying that in case you've watched DSL40CR review videos and thought the DSL20CR is the same, just less power. According to many it's not. Disclaimer - I have no experience with either.

DSL20CR is 20 or 10 watts. I use the 10 in my basement, and the master volume controls the rest. I tried the 5 watt and it didn't have the features I wanted (extra speaker options).

I have the DSL1CR. Definitely loud enough for bedroom use. It gets good breakup on the clean channel when cranked up. For a bedroom only amp, the 20 watt would be good with headphones, too loud with the included speaker.

I have a DSL40. It's fine in the bedroom. The master volume controls work surprisingly well.

(The RockCrusher works even better, I'll admit.)

I love my DSL20HR on an Orange 1x12 with a CL80 or Cannabis Rex.

That said, my preferred setup is with the thing dimed on the clean channel, and that's just about what I can get away with at practices, while live I usually have to turn down just a touch and lose a little dirt. I haven't played much with the dirty channel, and when I have, it's been kind of modern-sounding for my tastes..........but if you've got the classic Fender tones covered, that might be just the thing!

My impression of the 20 is that it's a very different amp between low and high volumes.

I could never get along with mine at bedroom volumes. I tried a bunch of speakers and different preamp tubes but I just never liked the sound at lower volumes. Once the amp is cranked up to gig volumes, the sound thickens up and it sounds quite good. At bedroom volumes, it always sounded thin and unpleasant. The older DSL 50 that I use to own seemed to work and sound much better when playing at bedroom volumes. Many folks do enjoy their 20's though so it may be exactly what you are looking for.
