Congrats - enjoy!
good choice !!! you should buy another as a back up !!!
Love mine. You made the right choice.
Nice buy. Try playing it thru your PRRI speaker or another single speaker larger cab. You'll be hooked!
Glad you had the chance to get it. Typically if I had the chance to get one at that price it would be long gone before I got back to it. Enjoy!
I have had one for a couple years!
Really awesome amp!
Pardon my toes!
You've got Harrison's guitar and Clapton's amp..... I'm guessing your girlfriend's name is Patty?
The 2 guys I work for just did a Clapton, Harrison thing with one of their wives. Really weird around the office now. What's weird is that their all cool with it. But then again, I work at a place where I wear my pajama bottoms to work in the winter and my bathing suit in the summer. LIFES GOOD!!!
15 more posts and I'm a Tele-Holic. I guess there's always rehab. I just hope Lindsey Lohan is there. Nomnomnom.
You mean they have more than one?
Well I've had a proper mess around with it now (and will get plenty of chances to this weekend as my girlfriend is away!) and it sounds great!
There was a bit of microphonics coming from the preamp so I swapped it out with one I had lying around, and it made it much better.
It is a little bit of a one trick pony, but that one trick is so good that it's okay! Hoping to hook it up with the PRRI tonight and use a volume/blend pedal to bring the champ in when I want, might get some interesting tones...
Are these champs self-biasing? Can't seem to find any info anywhere so thought I'd ask here...
Congrats on the Champ. Keeps surprising me. Suggest you find a 'good' NOS Bugle Boy 12AX7. The Champ loves them.
Umm... yeah, you can.
You sound like you're pretty stuck on your opinion. You can't get Cinch sockets and 100% U.S. made tubes in a Fender. You can't send your "Fender" back to Fender to be re-voiced if it doesn't exactly hit the spot.
I think if I came across a used Fender '57 Champ for $499 I'd be interested since that's half the street price of a new one. But I would consider a boutique or custom build before I'd buy a new one at $999. muchxs made me a nice 5E3 amp and I second (or third) the recommendation on his work.
