I'm looking at buying one of these for our two man guitar shop. Anyone have experience with one of these machines? we want to use it for routing pickup cavities, possibly final shaping bodies, routing control cavities and possibly making bolt on neck blanks.

I built an overhead pin router a few years ago and there's not much you cannot do with one.

it would be nice to have a big cast Iron, three phase behemoth. But space and price are big concerns. the shop smith uses two tubular arms, but it looks pretty substantial.

Any little vibration in that arm will get translated to a ding in your body and neck...YMMV.
