You may have heard about this awful event:

    Terrible & my condolences.

I went across the Peace Arch crossing last week.
I was reading in the paper that the border guards deal with harrassment from motorists every day! Really?
With the power they have, I wouldn't dare harrass or mouth off a border guard! You are liable to get your car taken apart!

What has been your experience with them? Have you had words with them?

Honestly I was under the impression that the U.S. Border Guards are a major PITA dealing with motorists.

Apologies from this side, looks like one of our homegrown lunatics somehow managed to lay his paws on a gun and decided to make some sort of point.

I hope the Canadian guard survives and thrives.

I have had ok experiences going down, but coming back is what I dread. I had to deal with a bit of arrogance/ rudeness coming back, but I just be respectful and realise their power.
I certainly wouldn't even consider trying to prove a point with rudeness back, knowing i'm not going to come out the winner.
    Seems some people do anyways....

Maybe in their fantasy world but in reality it's the other way around. Females and noobs are the worst. Really poor judges of character.

We all feel badly about what happened on the border.

However, this thread is guaranteed to veer off toward politics, guns, or both.

Best to shut it down now.
