    Funny thing happened...

Years back I owned the CS '60 Custom Tele pictured below. Sold it when I was thinning out the herd to pay for motorcycle stuff. At some point I came to my senses and realized that the Ducati was a money pit and the guitars I'd sold had gone up over the years.

At that point I knew I needed another high end Tele-shaped thing in my collection, and found a 2013 Nocaster for sale. Bought it on the spot. Killer guitar! But I still missed that sunburst...

Through the magic of Instagram, I searched for #customtelecaster and fortunately the new owner was a big gear photographer. We reconnected on there and after much discussion he agreed to sell it back to me!

So now I have these two. I've heard it's good practice to have two to keep each other company in case I pick up my (gasp) Strat.

...and as I think about it, it is amazing you were able to track down and re-purchase that guitar. Cool story!

Hang on tight this time, and maybe your Ducati will come back some day too.

That's a great story and those are sweet guitars.
Every time I think of selling one of my Custom Shops I remember how much I regret selling my 62 AVRI Custom Tele. It was not CS, but it was a beautiful and great guitar. I miss it now, even after selling it long ago. I've sold a lot of great guitars over the years but that AVRI is the one I really regret and that includes a wonderful 8502 and a CS Tele.

that's great..congrats on finding it. I did the same thing 2 years ago with a special order/Team Built '60 Strat I bought new in 2006. Sold it two years later....came across the buyer selling it and bought it back..8 years later...but that's where the stories differ....I sold it within 3 weeks. Could not deal with the 7.25'/radius/vintage frets. But it did have a massive neck that I loved....oh well.....

You have two excellent teles there. I am green with envy. Hang on to those, they are both keepers.

Not at all. A good Esquire is a whole nother animal. But be careful as it may put your teles on the shelf. I know mine did. ;)

BTW nice and congrats on the return of the prodigal son.

Nice. Guitars are much safer than motorcycles (except when I play you better duck and cover your ears).
