Back together. Now I'm wondering about a pickguard color change; maybe white or mint?

I really like this design...clean and flowing. It's really great that a tele-type permits so many interesting variations without getting involved in complex neck to body geometry.

I personally like the black pick guard, but there's no harm in trying some variations to get a combination that hits the right spot for you. Maybe you can use some poster board to make some approximate samples with rattle can paint to do some visual exploring. Unstring and then just plop them on one at a time and stand back. See what works the best and then commit to cutting. Or...just have several and change them from time to time as the mood suits. As long as you're careful with the screws it's just the time required to unstring, install and restring. (necessary because the guard surrounds the bridge)

I'm a big fan of mint but for this I'd stay with black. On a lighter guard I think the pickups being black would break up the lines.

Do you think you can change the decal to say Squid instead of Squier? Or even Squied :)

I don't think I can modify the decal; it's under the clear coat.

Well I'll just have to imagine it says Squid by Flounder.

Nice work, I really like the body shape, especially the fin arm relief!

Thanks for the tip on the Surf 90's, I may try those on a future build.
