For this Sunday, it's just me on a Mustang guitar and drums. Not my favorite way to do things, but we're short handed.

So here comes Everlasting God again... I love to play it... it's a challenge that doesn't always come with a satisfaction guarantee. It stretches my live ability. Wondering (and I didn't start a new thread 'cause I assume the same thirty of us scan every post here anyway)... wondering, if you guys play the same solo on songs with "trademark solo's" every time or do you interject new (customized) parts?
Another trademark solo/interlude is in "God of Wonders."

I'm playing acoustic this time. First time in 10 weeks I've played. I'm itching to bring my new beater to play but will go the safe route with the Taylor...

For us, since we really just started using electric guitars, I would usually alter solos a bit to make them sound big on acoustic, as opposed to single note runs. I would use a lot of pedal tones, like an open G or open b string and play all the notes on the higher string. Now that we have an electric guitarist who studied jazz guitar at Berklee, he improvs over a lot during the solos. Whether it works really depends on whether the congregation knows the solos or not. As long as it doesn't sound too busy, I don't mind it.

    Lord Reign In Me

I Could Sing of Your Love Forever

Not my favorite set but still great songs to worship the Lord. I'll also say that we got our 2nd acoustic guitarist back, as she had been out for almost 3 months with a broken wrist, so it made it interesting to reincorporate her into our team again.

My wife and I were out of town, leading worship in a different congregation this past week. Since we hadn't been there before, I went with songs which I assumed would be familiar (and tied in nicely with the theme of the sermon etc). I was on my big Guild JF30 acoustic, my wife was playing a variety of tinwhistles and accordion, and our friend from that congregation was on djembe. And we all sang (my wife and I taking turns leading).
    Service went great!

    Set list was:
    Hallelujah (Your love is amazing)
You are Worthy of my Praise
    Be Thou my Vision
    In Christ Alone
    10000 Reasons
    Lord Reign in Me

    Last Sunday was

    Regular Worship:
    The Time Has Come
    From the Inside Out
    I Surrender
    Holy Spirit

    After the Sermon:
    I Surrender
    Holy Spirit
    (The rest was spontaneous worship)
    Came to my Rescue
    How He Loves
    The Stand
    Freedom is Here

It was in awesome time of worship.
