I've just watched this Dutch band The Analogues perform Sgt Pepper in it's entirity...it sounds fantastic ! ! They also have performed other Beatles albums that the Fab Four never performed live on youtube. I got it up on my smart tv...LOUD and just got me wondering that The Beatles...if they hadn't fallen out...would probably have sounded this good (probably better with the same line up...orchestra...extra musicians etc) if they had ever had the chance to play it.

    They are excellent.
As a band, if you’re going to cover The Beatles you have to get it dead on or people think you suck.
This group has it dead on, Ive never heard a cover band do them better.
Thanks for posting that, I will always be a Beatles fan.

Strange, I was about to post about the White Album concert they did. I just watched yesterday, I was blown away with the attention to detail and the musicality. I also saw the making of documentary of the Sgt. Pepper concert, it's crazy! The amount of gear that Bart van Poppel have it's extreme.

That's a proper tribute band, not wigs and cheap suits.

Yeah, I saw that doc a couple of years ago. That dude is really after the tones for those albums.

Must be nice to be able to buy every instrument you need, and even recondition some that need TLC.

Nothing really to base this on, but I like to think that, had John and George lived, The Beatles might have re-united at some point, and performed many of these and other songs. Ringo and Paul still have the performing "bug", and with only a few extra musicians could have done a great job of replicating the past studio efforts. But....probably just wishful thinking on my part.
