2003 SG Voodoo - bought new just as they came out. Love this guitar. Played it at lots of gigs over 10 years, stock. After I stopped gigging I replaced the stock pickups with P94s (shown in photo). At first I was disappointed that the tone wasn't very different, but when recording with it, the sound is crystal clear compared to the humbuckers. Really wish I'd done this earlier :)

The blue one is an Epiphone G400. Bought it as a backup. Did it's job, love the look of it, but it's not a great player so sadly I don't really have a use for it any more.

    Diablo Premium Plus

I joined the SG club this week, with an SG Diablo Premium Plus. It's a 2012, Carved AAA maple top, Burstbucker pickups, TonePros bridge, with a nitro finish. I couldn't sell any guitars on craigslist, but I did get some interesting trade offers.

    Here's mine.
'67 or '73, depending on who you believe.

Plays and sounds great, especially after a re-fret last year.

Wouldn't it be as simple as "does it have a volute or not" to determine which of those years (I am no expert).

It has a volute, which indicates it's from the '70s, but the serial number indicates it's a '67.

So I'm thinking it's probably a '73, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter - it's a great guitar either way...

490R/498T pups, controls are mounted to a PCB, neck joins the body at 19th fret.

Its funny. My 2014 SG special is hard wired; but my 2012 les Paul standard has PCB. One would think it should be the other way around.

What's even stranger to me is that the 2016 $800 and $900 Les Pauls get the "Modern" weight relief but the $2300 Les Pauls get the "Traditional" weight relief. In 2014 I had to opt for the high priced LP to get modern weight relief.

Note that the modern weight relief has the long neck tenon.

...another detail to check according to Gibson website ("The Gibson SG - 50 Essential Facts"):

    47. 1970 saw new words stamped on the back of the Gibson SG’s headstock: Made in USA.

Interesting. No 'Made in USA' on the back of the headstock of my SG, which would mean it's a '67 rather than '73.

Just got a new Epi SG Junior .my first guitar was an Epiphone SG standard, and I literally played until it fell apart. It's good to have one again after 15years :)

Noticed that when he walked in the door of the place. Thought I saw an epi headstock; but not sure
